Self connection is your key to leading a fulfilling life

Many of us are leading lives as per society benchmarks and definitions of success. And in the process forgot to connect with ourselves to make better informed decisions in life.

This year the main theme for many of my clients has been redefining success and connecting with their true self.

Our upbringing and the societal cultures actually make us disconnect from our inner voice. Most of us are induced by fear leading to self doubt.

Someone came to me this year who ticked each box of a successful woman - well educated, married at the right age, two kids and a glorifying career. And yet she felt empty inside. And she felt guilty feeling empty inside because she had it all. What she was seeking was self connection. She ticked those boxes because that was the path led by the society, not her. And as she was being aware of her life choices, she started seeking what lies beneath. And she realized all of what she has and has achieved is only because she was told this is the way to lead a life.

She wanted something else instead. A true connection with herself that would guide her true way forward. And this story is of many of my clients.

Our connection with self starts deteriorating with:

  • Belief systems which induce fear

  • Stress stored in our body

  • Trauma responses stored in our memory

And when we start removing these blinds and conditioning is when you start connecting with yourself at the deep cellular level.

This is cellular ACTIVATION.

Healing, cleansing and filtering the deep storage of stress and default behaviours in your body and mind. This is learning to let go of what was and rising through it with more wisdom, and sense of self than before. Of course there will be days of hurt, tears, emotional releases. Because you are human, we are meant to feel.

💛Strength to say yes even when others doubt you.

When you start building an enriched relationship with yourself, you will be a magnet for others who do the same.

What self connection has done to me is:

  • I am obsessed with my thought clarity and inner voice. Even when 100 people are saying the opposite, I go with my inner voice. Ready to take responsibility of my choice.

  • Receiving cosmic guidance has become easier. Listening to the whispers of nature is so easy.

  • Tuning inside my body. Our bodies are wonders and real magicians. Your body gives you all the signals and messages. A strong inner connection is the way to listen to it.

  • External factors, judgement or opinions don’t really bother me because in my connection I know what is my truth.

  • I exercise. I meditate. I eat well. I have my own rituals to enrich my life. All because my connection with myself is the strongest.

And here are some ways to get started with this self connection:

  • My first and foremost tool has been, sitting with a decision and asking myself, “Is this decision been taken from my conditioning or is it because I really want to do this?”

    It might take a few rounds for you to get attuned to your body signals as you ask this question.

  • Breath
    We so underestimate the power of our breath. Conscious breathing.
    I read a near death experience of someone recently in a fatal car accident, and he mentioned in those 30 seconds where he thought he is dying, he had this urge to connect with his breath. And instantly there was this deep connection he felt with himself. In that moment he realised the power of our breath.

    Our breaths are indeed that powerful. Close your eyes and connect consciously to your breath often.

  • Self Notes
    Writing to yourself, journaling or recording voice notes for yourself is a great way to connect with yourself. No filters. Being unabashed about how you feel. Connecting with that emotion minus the labeling of good or bad.
    Then you can release it with the help of this meditation.

  • Cleansing the stored stress
    Our brain becomes foggy when we start accumulating stress inside our bodies. Our responses start happening from a flight-freeze-fawn stimuli. Meaning anything which is beyond our comfort zone is seen as a threat. In that case, obviously we will lose our self connection because we are in a survival mode. Here is a free resource for you to start releasing the stress.

If you feel disconnected, then it is likely that in your divine machinery of a body - all your systems are not integrated and are not working together;
and you have an imbalance occurring inside.

Whether it is your heavy, irregular periods, your heavy limbs, your low sex drive, touch sensitivity, or the need for a coffee or alcohol - pick me up, these are all symptoms of how stress and imbalance is stored inside.

What has become clear for me with my clients over 15 years is that the person always knows in their heart what they need first.
But you can only access this when you are connected and united with your body.

Your mind has the evidence that it needs to bring the momentum, motivation and focus to make change.
