Ways in which your nervous system is blocking you from reaching your career and wealth goals

We operate in our comfort zones. It is a human tendency. Natural instinct is to do that. However if you want to grow, we need to move beyond the fears.

Ways in which your nervous system is blocking you from reaching your career and wealth goals.

Let’s get straight to the point today.

You are leading a comfortable life. With where you are. A decent career and work profile. Money coming in quite well. Comfort of a home.

And there are days though when you hear a small voice inside saying, “I want to do more at work. I want to apply for that dream role of mine. I wonder how would it feel to be promoted. I want to earn more.”

And you think, let’s try. Only to see that either you are procrastinating. Or finding excuses. Or something happens and you stop. You start falling ill often. It feels like the little voice inside you and its wants are not meant for you.

You give up.

You give up not because you are not capable. You give up because your nervous system does not feel safe in going for that dream, that role or that new home beyond your comfort zone.

You give up not because you do not deserve to have it. Rather because your nervous system does not know it is perfectly safe to go for it.

You give up not because you are afraid to do the work. But rather your nervous system does not know that the work which needs to be done is safe to undertake.

Are you understanding what I am attempting at conveying here?

When the first man ventured out that cave, it was just one man. It took thousands of years of evolution for us to break that pattern and enabling our nervous system to know that we are safe embarking outside that cave. We don’t have to wait for thousand more years to achieve our dreams.

When we were a child. We learnt walking nevertheless. Then our nervous system was not so conditioned to the upbringing and society beliefs. We fell down and yet stood up again. Beyond our comfort zone. Beyond the fear.

And we can do it again.

Let me take you through a flow of regulating our nervous system -

  1. Close your eyes and think of a dream you want to pursue. Or a career goal. Big or small.

  2. List your fears with respect to pursuing this goal. Observe your body while you do it. Is your heart racing? Palpitation? Sweaty palms or armpits?

  3. Get up and do 10 jumping jacks telling yourself you are safe in these fears. You are capable of moving beyond these fears.

  4. Read the list again. Observe your body and see if the heart racing, palpitations and sweating has reduced. If yes, congratulations. You have made the first progress in telling your nervous system, “It is ok. We got this”.

  5. If the palpitations have not reduced, do step 3 again.

  6. Now look up and create a list of people who have already done it. Achieved that career goal of yours or that dream. Read about them. Speak with them if possible. Ask them or find how did they do it. Gather all the points. Write it down. Read.
This gives your nervous system the further evidence of how it is safe doing it as someone else has done it.

  7. And now, ask yourself “What one small step can I take towards this dream or career goal of mine?”
Go take that step to build on the momentum.

  8. Lastly, keep on building on these steps with the next one. Any time fear grips or you start feeling uneasy again. Jumping jacks. Shake it off. Repeat.

Reply to this email with your career goal or dream. Claim it to the Universe. Break the shackles of fear with this step. And to everyone who shows this courage, I will share a personal guidance for you on what can be your next critical step to quantum leap.

Let’s say ‘yes’ to more money.
Let’s say ‘yes’ to that dream role.
Let’s say ‘yes’ to starting our business.
Let’s say ‘yes’ to taking that sabbatical and traveling.
Let’s say ‘yes’ to your definition of success. Not the society’s. With a regulated nervous system. Let’s make our body, mind and nervous system our ally.

Enjoy......

I love you all.
